Blackwood Distillers was founded in 2002 originally to make whisky. They were founded by a team of people to create a “small and passionate” company. Blackwood claims to use “sustainable harvesting programmes” developed by Highland Natural Products.

Blackwood’s Gin is made from “hand-harvested Shetland botanicals… in proportions that do not disturb the fragile habitat.” Ingredients include Sea pink flowers, wild water mint, meadowsweet, and coriander. The gin is considered a genevere, which implies a slight aging and barley mash.
