Description
Suntory Yamazaki is aged in casks of three different kinds of oaks—American, Spanish and Japanese—lending unique complexity to this spirit. A vibrant copper-gold color, this whisky displays enticing aromas of caramel, spice, cherry, and fig. Suntory Yamazaki 18 Year Old is satisfyingly full-bodied, with flavors of toffee, walnut, baking spices, chocolate, and dried apricot.
Yamazaki is Japan’s first malt whisky distillery, built by Suntory’s founder in 1923. Using copper pot stills, this was the first of its kind outside of Scotland. The distillery’s location on the outskirts of Kyoto offered pure water, diversity of climate and high humidity, creating an ideal environment for whisky maturation.
